It was very difficult to drink water through it, so I would usually resort to just taking the cap off to drink. Obviously, defeating the purpose of the cap. Other than the cap it performed just like every other Platypus bottle I own. The contour of the bottle did make it less awkward to carry, however. The construction of the bottle is great, very durable. I have never been afraid that I might break or puncture it, and I have tossed it, dropped it, dropped things on it, etc. All in all, it is a good product, but not great only because of the cap. Would I buy it again? I ended up getting an insulated carrying case for it to solve this issue. The colors make it great to tell which one belongs to who when traveling with friends. I liked the bite tube. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to open and close it. It does not drip or leak at all when closed. It freezes well too and when empty rolls up small like a tube of toothpaste. I wished I would have known that you can buy a protective cap for the top so that the drinking end does not get contaminated by touching other objects - Platypus Bite Valve Cover.
